The Challenges Ahead – A UK Perspective |
Care for older people with frailty in the United Kingdom has never been so bad - despite the persistent and determined efforts of frontline care staff. Winter 2022/23 saw the worst ever ambulance delays, trolley waits and delayed transfers of care, all most likely to affect older people with frailty. This has provided an opportunity for traction with policymakers around front-door frailty, hospital at home and rehabilitation/reablement delivered across the continuum of care. This talk will share the challenges and opportunities - through the prism of personal experience - arising from the current crisis. Things can only get better.
