Cardiologist, Te Whatu Ora - Te Tai Tokarau, Whangarei Hospital Raewyn is a cardiologist, working in Northland. She has a special interest in heart failure but is an all round cardiologist with experience in echo, angiography and interests also in prevention and teaching.
She has been a cardiologist for many years, having moved with her family north from Waikato in 2019. |
In Waikato she was the Clinical Director of Cardiology and established the Waikato Heart Failure service which provides nurse led care throughout the DHB area.
She is the current chair of the Cardiac Society Heart Failure working group and member of the CSANZ regional committee for many years, having had input into local and national clinical pathways.
She is passionate about developing equitable care for all heart failure patients, focussing on non-metropolitan areas such as the far north, and educating health care providers about improving heart failure management.

Raewyn will provide an update on heart failure management, focusing on recent developments in guideline directed medical therapy. Although relevant to heart failure patients of all ages, discussion of appropriateness of these agents in the elderly will be highlighted. Challenges in implementing care in chronic heart failure cases will also be discussed.
