Peter Tizard Lead Pharmacist Acute Care of the Elderly Service Whangarei Hospital I Carried out my under graduate studies in biomedical science and pharmacy at Auckland University. During this time I carried out a research project at Evelina Children’s Hospital London into medication supply issues following discharge from hospital.
Since becoming registered I have worked as a community pharmacist in Queenstown, Invercargill, Motueka and Nelson before taking up the role of clinical pharmacist at Whangarei Hospital for the last four years. At Whangarei I have worked in a range of specialty clinical areas including Surgical, General Medicine, Paediatrics, Renal and Oncology. I have recently taken up a special interest in geriatric medicines and medication rationalisation within this population and work as part of the Acute Care of the Elderly (ACE) team at Whangarei Hospital. I currently hold a post graduate diploma in clinical pharmacy and intend to return to study in 2023. |
