Val completed her undergraduate training in the UK, before moving to the Southern Hemisphere to complete advanced training in geriatric medicine and general medicine in Christchurch, NZ and Sydney, Australia. She has been a consultant in geriatric medicine and general medicine with the Canterbury District Health Board since 2003. Her areas of interest are community geriatrics, stroke medicine and delirium.
