Emma Green Programme Manager, Bay of Plenty DHB, Tauranga, NZ
Emma Green works as a programme manager at the Bay of Plenty DHB supporting a series of integrated health initiatives that seek to join up the system and improve patient experience. An allied health clinician by background, Emma has extensive experience working in complex health system contexts in a variety of roles. Emma’s current work includes introducing community based, equitable enablement services in the Bay using a locality approach centered around community health teams and general practice. The initial pilot has integrated DHB allied health and nursing resource within an existing kaupapa community health team and General practice with the aim of delivering equitable, person directed, wellbeing focused intervention. As part of her doctoral research, Emma is looking at how we might enable allied health clinicians to practice outside of the DHB system, team and organisational boundaries that often impact practice and limit a person directed approach to health care delivery.
